What is a Chaise Lounge? [In Under 100 Words]

A Chaise Lounge (or Chaise Longue) is an elongated chair meant for reclining and relaxing. It takes its name from 19th Century France, meaning, in French, ‘long chair.’ In today’s world, it can be a standalone piece as well as a chaise attached to a sectional for extra space to relax. Oftentimes a chaise on a sectional can be separated. When they’re not attached to a sectional, they are freestanding extended chairs—the equivalent of a chair and an ottoman all in one piece. Sometimes you’ll see chaises that have two arms, sometimes they’ll have one arm. Oftentimes, they’re put in a bedroom, reading nook, or living room.   Get inspired with more articles: How to Choose the Perfect Ergonomic Office Chair for You How to Pick the Best Fabric for…

Today, we’re introducing you to two new products that we’re excited about: The Thayer Chair and the Camden Sofa. We met up with Stephanie Birchenough, our Merchandiser, to hear about the features, pros, and cons so you can get to know the products and decide if they’re right for you. Thayer Chair The Thayer Chair is a new style that we’re really excited about. It has a tight-seat and a tight-back which means there are no loose cushions. “The benefit of a tight-seat,” Stephanie explains, “is that it always looks neat because there’s nothing to fluff.” The chair has a low arm that slopes down which Stephanie says is “part of the charm of the chair.” As far as style goes, it leans mid-century modern but is a timeless frame…

What is Ultrasuede? [In Under 100 Words]

Design Inspiration, General, Pick of the Week, Things To know, Tips and Tricks
Ultrasuede is a performance fabric that’s often compared to suede leather because it mimics the soft, luxurious feel of suede. One of the reasons Ultrasuede is so popular is because it’s pet-friendly. It has an extremely tight weave that makes it near impossible for claws to penetrate through. Ultrasuede is cleanable, breathable, and durable and it can stand up to a high-traffic home. It also has all-weather flexibility, meaning it feels warm in cold temperatures and cool when it’s hot. It’s resistant to pilling, sagging, shrinking, and fading. If durability is your main concern and you have a few pets running around the house, Ultrasuede is a great option. If you have questions about Ultrasuede or want to learn more about performance fabrics in general, come into any of our…
